Liu Sheng, Chairman and President of Zhongji Innolight
Co., Ltd, has made a personal donation to the Schwarzman College of Tsinghua
University.
Liu, a Tsinghua alumnus from the Class of 1989, said
personal growth and career advancement cannot be achieved without support from
the society; therefore, it is the responsibility of corporate leaders to give
back to society and support talent development.
He added that his donation to support the development
of the Schwarzman College is not only a move to support education, but also
serves as a concrete step to engage in social philanthropy, promote cultural
and people-to-people exchanges between China and the rest of the world, and
help cultivate more high-caliber professionals with global vision who are
capable of undertaking missions on the international stage.
This donation stands as a remarkable act of charity by Liu, who has long dedicated himself to educational philanthropy and giving back to his alma mater. It highly aligns with the company’s long-standing corporate philosophy, public good-oriented aspiration, and ESG sustainable development strategy, and highlights the sense of social responsibility and long-term commitment of its leadership and the company itself.
ESG as part of corporate gene
Zhongji Innolight has consistently aligned with the
values upheld by its Chairman Liu on Environmental, Social, and Governance
(ESG) principle, incorporating ESG into its strategic planning, daily operation,
and long-term decision-making. Liu’s donation to Schwarzman College is a
reflection of the company's social responsibility as part of its ESG strategy.
In terms of environmental responsibility, the
company adheres to the development philosophy of promoting green innovation and
eco-priority, actively aligns with the Paris Climate Agreement and
China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, and continuously refined
its climate governance framework to include emission reduction into its full
life-cycle product management. It has set phased carbon reduction targets and
clean energy consumption goals, driving efficient resource utilization and energy
structure optimization while steadily increasing the share of clean energy in
its operations, thus advancing green and low-carbon transformation.
“Zhongji Innolight is committed to reducing product
energy consumption through technological innovation, making substantive
contributions to the green and low-carbon development of global computing
infrastructure,” Liu said.
In terms of social responsibility, while it pursues
technological innovation-based development and making forward-looking
investments in key technology R&D, the company places strong emphasis on
talent capacity building and structured talent cultivation, actively participates
in social welfare and charitable initiatives; it supports children’s education
and underprivileged students, provides educational assistance and psychological
care for left-behind children in rural areas, and helping students from
financially challenged families achieve their college goals. Its overseas
subsidiaries have also committed to improving educational conditions at local
schools and made donations to support children's holistic development.
Zhongji Innolight has also prioritized building of
its ESG governance system to foster more robust, transparent, and accountable
governance and build trust among clients, partners, and capital markets. “We
stick to stringent trade compliance standards and maintain zero-tolerance
toward unethical business practices,” said Liu.
Looking forward, Liu said the company will continue
to uphold its core values of "innovation, speed, discipline, and teamwork",
guided by its "LIGHT" principle (Long term, Intelligence, Green,
Health, Talent). With a more global vision, robust governance and resolute execution,
the company will navigate emerging opportunities and handle challenges to
further advance its ESG practices and deliver sustainable growth, Liu said.
Qiu Yong,
Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee and Chairman of Tsinghua
University Education Foundation, and Stephen A. Schwarzman, Founder and CEO of
the Blackstone Group and Founding Trustee of the Tsinghua University Schwarzman
Scholars Program, were present at the donation ceremony.
